iAmbulance

Why Request an iAmbulance?
I have customers who send their iPod for repair in all types of packages through the mail.

A woman living about 40 miles away put her iPod Mini in a standard business envelope and mailed it. The envelope arrived fairly torn up but the iPod was still in it (even though it was capable of falling out at any moment, and it would be really obvious to anyone handling the envelope what was in it).

Some people prefer a well-thought-out strategy to get their iPod to me for repair. For them I have the "iAmbulance". It adds time to getting the total repair finished but it solves the dilemma of "what do I ship my iPod in, and where do I get those packaging materials?"

I will send a custom created rigid cardboard box with any needed bubble padding inside a prepaid mailer. It will arrive inside it's own packaging. You merely open it up take out the iAmbulance inner mailer and cardboard box, then fold the box to fit your iPod and seal it inside. Then put the box in the mailer, seal it and drop it in any mail box.

There are places that will next day deliver shipment boxes and fly your iPod around the globe to get it fixed. That style of resource consumption doesn't appeal to us. I am not interested in wasteful consumption of resources, and the corresponding environmental violence that comes from jet airplane delivery of a hand held entertainment system. The package will come to us via first class mail which typically means it's safely here in three or maybe four days.

My primary mission here is to get dead iPods running and back to you with a minimum expense and I will attempt (except for batteries and LCD screens) to use parts that come from 'cadaver donors' (used iPods I buy for repair parts).

To get an iAmbulance
First, contact me by email or telephone 1-877-iPod-Pro. I need your name, email address, telephone number and shipping information. I'll send you an iAmbulance right away.

I need to do a quick diagnostic of your specific iPod problem. This takes only a few moments. Often the telephone diagnosis is complete, but occasionally I find once I have the iPod in our hands that something may have been overlooked in the initial conversation. I will contact you immediately if I find this to be the case.

When You Receive the Packaging
The iAmbulance includes a Postage Paid Return Shipper so it won't cost you a dime. It also includes a form with your work order information which you will need to include in the package when you ship it to me. Please fill in any areas identified with yellow highlighter.

As soon as I receive your package, I will contact you by phone to let you know it has been received, and in most cases will give you a brief analysis of any changes to the original diagnosis.

Turn-Around Time
The typical turn-around time on iSick Bay repairs is about 24 hours. If you live locally and come by to drop it off, I can usually make the repairs while you wait. In a few cases, a local drop off may take me as long as 3 hours. Regardless, you will hear from me within 24 hours with a detailed description of the situation.

I'm in Sonoma County... Northern California wine country.

If you live nearby, are traveling through or live in the San Francisco Bay Area bring your iPod to me and I can do the work while you wait or go wine tasting for a while. Send me an email just to make sure I have on hand whatever parts your repair will require.

Call or email me with questions or to set up a repair. You can also call, I am here most days from 8am to 8pm
