How do I arrange a Repair?

Almost any way you can contact me will work. I am continually available by email at repair0110@isickbay.com. I scan mail several times an hour. I have a personal policy regarding email. I never open a message unless I am prepared to answer it at that moment (my mother instilled in me a "do it now ethic") so if you send me an email message and I am here (not at the gym or out on a run) you will tend to get a reply in about 5 minutes or less.
I find many people want to discuss the nature of the problem they have with their iPod. Chiefly they want to know.. is the problem they are having with their iPod common, and relatively fixable. They want to get an idea of the likelihood of success at fixing it and more than that... an idea of the cost.

Please call 1-877-iPod-Pro to learn whether your repair is common, and one I've solved regularly.
If I don't answer the phone *or* the answering machine isn't on email at repair0110@isickbay.com send your phone number and I'll call you. There are times when I have both of my hands with a hot soldering pencil while fixing something. I also do contract work as a technical problem in the computer field, since I have a working knowledge of 8 hardware environments and 17 operating systems I take on projects that sometimes require me to expend enough brain energy to light a small city. When I'm in the deep thinking phase of a contract project I will only be initially available by email.... but I check it continually and get back to people immediately. I'm very responsive to email.

If you are in the area and want your iPod/Digital Camera/Cell Phone/Gaming Systems fixed and I'm not available you are free to use my "Emergency Patient Admittance System". There are padded mailers and work forms at the front gate of the iSick Bay. You can put your device in a mailer, put your name and phone number on the work form, seal it and drop it in the Postal Mail Drop on the left.

I will call you to discuss you device, its problem and it's solution.

If you are distant... I have people send me their iPods from as far away as Scotland, Korea, Brazil, London/Britain, Canada and *all over* the US.

Here is the degree of intensity I exhibit at my work
http://www.isickbay.com/recent_fixes_13.shtml

It should take 5 stamps on a padded envelope or a plastic bubble mailer to get it from there to here with a total "out of your hand and back into your hand again" experience of 4 maybe 5 days depending on where a Sunday falls.

If you want it sent back to you using Priority Mail add $5.

If you want your iPod sent back using Priority Mail and Insured add $11

BE CERTAIN TO INCLUDE, your name, address, phone number and email address

Send it along with a check for $40 (or you can PayPal in the funds once it arrives) to the address below. If there is an unexpected discovery and somehow additional parts are required, I'll contact you by email and we will decide together if it's cost effective. If you move forward with the repair you can PayPal in the money for the parts, I'll know more once it's "in the operating theatre".

More on my fees is here. The $40 labor fee always includes return shipping (except international where it's $15 more and they are sent back Global; Priority Air) and you get a refund of $20 if somehow I can't or it's impractical to do the repair.

These are comments people have sent me after they received their iPod back fixed.

The degree of detail in my work is best seen here
http://www.isickbay.com/recent_fixes_13.shtml

I am an iPod water immersion specialist. If you've dropped your iPod into anything but sea water and you can get it to me reasonably quickly, I have an excellent record of resuscitating these near dead iPods. I've had patients here that were the result of... being dropped in soup, sports drinks, swimming pools, beer, cereal (milk), walked through sprinklers.

If you've dropped your iPod in some form of liquid, don't think too long... email me right away. Time is the real killer after you've dropped an iPod in a liquid. The liquid begins to corrode the solder contacts of the parts on the logic board as oxygen atoms from the air and water vapor recombine to form lead oxide from the lead in the solder. The lead oxide powder requires more space than the lead in the lead/tin alloy solder and it lifts the discreet electronic parts right off the logic board. Since these microscopic parts aren't able to be re-soldered (Apple uses wave flow soldering process) the logic board is permanently destroyed. Once the lead oxide process begins, unless it's arrested, it has just one conclusion... needing to replace the logic board.

I am available for phone calls at hours you wouldn't imagine. There is a local number for my customers in Sonoma County which is 707-544-4400
