These are a few my recent iPod repair experiences.
Lily M lives in Menlo Park (110 miles
away)
She keeps three iPod of different vintages in her Gym Bag, where she also
carries bottles of flavored sparkling drinking water. At some point along
the way her one of larger bottles opened up and soaked her bag and iPods.
she found me and sent them in. One was a 1st generation 10GB, another was
a 4th generation Mini and the last was a first Gen Nano which had become
her primary device for gym use. More important to her was getting the
music off the two older ones because she had no other copies of those
songs. All three were brought back to life and I extracted the songs from
the Mini and 1st gen and back CD's of the music for her to add back to her
iTunes Library. Getting the 1st Gen to work to extract the music was
monumental but here it is
Fixed - Total cost to get data extracted, copied and
three iPods fixed..$120.

Betti F lives in Cloverdale (25 miles
away)Her daughter left her iPod Nano 2nd Generation in her
clothes and it went through the wash. Betti noticed it clanging around in
her dryer. She left it off and overnight I was able to get it back to
complete working state and all of her daughters music was still on it.

Fixed - Total cost to get iPod fixed..$40.
