These are a few my recent iPod repair experiences.
Margo Sunderland lives in Weslaco (1650 miles
away)
This is an interesting story... Her son cracked the LCD on his nano. They
sent it in to me along with $67 in cash to cover the repair. It got here
on a Saturday and i fixed and sent it back the same day. She called the
next Tuesday explaining her husband had called her a fool for sending the
iPod *AND* cash to someone she didn't know and she would never get any of
it back!. She called to say thanks for making her look goof to her son,
and setting her husband back on his heels with his distrust. (a couple of
days later she called explaining her other had dropped his Video iPod in
water and was sending it in.. with cash).
Fixed - Total cost, including shipping .. $67. ($40
labor and return shippping, $27 for the LCD.

Lynette Yoder lives in Arthur, Illinois (2100 miles
away).
Her son left his nano 2nd in his clothing while it went through the
wash. Like others that have had this happen recently she was a bit
unsteady realizing this was an expensive device that didn't work any
longer. She got a hold of me and was reassured there might be a fix. She
sent it in with 2 $20 bills to be fixed. i got this one back in perfect
condition and all the songs are there. The cash was appreciated too ;)
Fixed - Total cost..$40.

Myla J lives in San francisco (90 miles
away)
She sent her 4th Gen 40GB iPod in. we weren't clear whether it was the drive
(strong probability) or the logic board. It got here and I changed out the
drive and logic board to determine that it was the hard drive. She was
given the option of a 20GB drive or a 40GB like she had before. She opted
for the 20GB because it was less expensive and was the size she really
needed after all.

Fixed - Total cost to get her new 20GB is $80. ($40
labor and return shippping, $40 for the drive.
