These are a few my recent iPod repair experiences.

Oscar H lives in San Jose (130 miles away) Oscar broke his LCD put also had a severely scratched faceplate on his Black Video iPod. It arrived here on Thursday morning and was sent back to him with the LCD replaced and the face plate swapped out. His now has a great Video iPod to watch his movies and videos on. Fixed - Total cost..$93.($40 labor and return shipping, $33 for the LCD, $20 for the faceplate.

Tim S lives in Visalia, California (450 miles away) He had a white nano 1st gen with a broke LCD. Pretty common repair for a nano Gen 1. It arrived on a Thursday morning and was sent back him repaired that same afternoon. Fixed - Total cost..$67.($40 labor and return shipping, $27 for the new screen.

Patrick C lives in San Francisco (60 miles away) This is a story of one that I couldn't fix. patrick went snow boarding and fell burying video iPod in snow. He got back from Tahoe and pondered whether to send the iPod up the 60 miles to me or not. In the meantime, while debating what to do, he decided a hair dryer from the outside might evaporate the moisture inside. It did and it evenly distributed it on the interior when it later re-condensed allowing corrosion evenly start on all the interior contacts. Oh, and he melted the outside of the case trying this so it would never close correctly again. I have a series of photos of iPod patient that basically arrived with no chance here http://www.ipodsickbay.com/water_immersion.shtml Not Fixed - Total cost..$23.

Marina Nazarova lives in Foster City, California (110 miles away) Under the plastic exterior is a Black Nano Gen 1. The screen was broken and actually it was burned out. when the device was turned on all you got was a white screen which was the backlight permanently turned on with none of the iPod's data showing on it. i replaced the screen and it works perfectly now. Fixed - Total cost..$67. ($40 labor and return shippping, $27 for the LCD.
