Repair My Repair

Can you fix my repair? Yes! "I tried to be self-reliant and install a part on my iPod and honest to God I didn't think it would go this way!"

"Now, I just need to get the thing working. I know some places freak out when they have to actually *repair* a 'repair'. How do you feel about this?"

My single biggest goal is keeping people's iPods working so they don't have to have a new made so they can buy it. I want to minimize waste, minimize consumerism and "save the planet"... but really... more than...help people.

I appreciate someone trying to be self-reliant. I try to be. I'll happily fix your "repair", call me and we can discuss what went off the rails with yours and I'll know where to look.

A couple of examples:
  1. One of my clients Ben went to change his battery and in the process introduced a whole new scroll wheel problem that he was unable to corrrect without help.
  2. In another case, a client named Susan ripped the ribbon connector to her scroll wheel while trying to replace the battery in her Mini iPod..and of course the battery still connected. In her case she would never know that she shorted the control circuit in the process and didn't have the parts to make her Mini work correctly after all. All she could tell is now had a different type of dead iPod. I was able to analyze and correct things but it took a new logic board.
The point is I am capable and willing to jump in and correct things that have gone when you try to repair it yourself.
